Acting Biography
Annika Nelson is a current senior theater major at University of Southern Maine. While in school Annika has been able to act in multiple plays and has been on the costuming team for multiple more. She is excited to move outside her educational experience and is looking forward to graduating in may 2026!
costuming artist statement
Everything you wear says something, but with costumes, the messages can be made intentional and I can say them as loud as I want, through art you can be as loud as you want. I think it is important to be playful, I am a maximalist and love to incorporate a lot of colors and patterns into my work, I take a lot of inspiration from historical and vintage fashions, as well as folk arts. Bringing cultural moments from the past into the things we make today connects them into the world at large.
